PURPOSE:To obtain a runner vane operating mechanism easy in assembling and dismantling by a constitution wherein a thrust receiving board is provided at the end of operating shaft to rotate the runner vane rotating shaft of the titled water turbine and the power of a servomotor is delivered through a lever, a link and the like. CONSTITUTION:In a tubular water turbine, pressure water, introduced from a stay ring 3, is effected on a runner vane 9 through a guide vane 5 to drive a generator by the rotation of the vane 9 through a main shaft 6. In this case, the main shaft 6a of the water turbine is rotatably supported by a bearing 26 in a bearing supporting section 25 provided at the upstream side of a casing 4 in the water turbine while an operating rod 27, provided with a cross head 13 at one end and the thrust receiving board 28 at the other end thereof, is extended through the main shaft 6a. The thrust receiving board 28 is held by a bearing holding section 30 reciprocable into axial direction through the bearing 29 while the bearing holding section 30 is displayed by the operation of the servomotor 24 through the lever 32 and the link 34.
