The invention relates to an hydroxyl group-containing acrylate copolymer, with use being made, in the copolymerisation, of a proportion of monomers having at least two double bonds, as well as to a process for producing the acrylate copolymer. The invention also relates to coating agents which contain binding agents which can be cured using acid, organic solvents and, where appropriate, pigments, fillers and customary auxiliary substances and additives, which coating agents contain, as the most important binding agents, the hydroxyl group-containing acrylate copolymer and an alkylated melamine formaldehyde resin. The invention also relates to coating agents which contain, as the most important binding agents, the hydroxyl group-containing acrylate copolymer and one or more different polyfunctional isocyanates.
