PURPOSE:To prevent deterioration in magnetic characteristics by forming a main magnetic pole by etching, and joining a head part for recording and reproduction and a head part for side erasure in one body with an adhesive across a nonmagnetic base material. CONSTITUTION:This head consists of ferrite materials 11a and 11b forming a core, nonmagnetic base materials 12a and 12b of barium titanate mounted on the opposite surfaces of the ferrite materials 11a and 11b, and the main magnetic pole 13 for recording and reproduction and main magnetic pole 14 for side erasure formed by etching in soft magnetic films formed on the opposite surfaces of the nonmagnetic substrates 12a and 12b and the nonmagnetic base material 15 is adhered with the adhesive injected into the gap formed between both main magnetic poles 13 and 14. Then, sliders made of ceramics, etc., are joined to both sides of the ferrite materials 11a and 11b. The materials are not exposed to high temperatures, for example, during glass sealing, so thre is no deterioration in magnetic characteristics. |
