PURPOSE:To correct the transversal strain of a metallic sheet material and to form a product having no bends in formation of a long-sized material having a leg part cloven to the midway by a wedge-shaped tool by supporting the sheet material by means of holding rolls and an adequately spaced correcting roll pair on the side opposite from the wedge-shaped tool. CONSTITUTION:The long-sized metallic sheet material 5 is held by the holding rolls 9A, 9B at both ends and the adequately spaced correcting rolls 8A, 8B provided under the wedge-shaped cleaving roll 6. The one side of the sheet thickness is successively cloven to the midway by the lateral shift of the material 5 and the downward movement of the roll 6. If the rolls 8A and 8B are adequately spaced from each other in this stage, the camber in the transverse direction of the sheet material by the cleaving is corrected by the pressing and bending of the material between the rolls 8A and 8B, by which the material is straightened. The cloven material 4 is thereafter formed to a prescribed shape by forming rolls 11-14. |
