A winding machine has flyer traversing. This consists of two oppositely rotating rotors with arms which guide the thread along on a guide plate. To bring about an exact transfer of the thread at the ends of the traversing stroke and to prevent the thread from overshooting, stop pins are provided at the ends of the traversing stroke. <IMAGE>
