A common housing is provided for receiving one or more light units (8, 9) of a light signal. The said housing consists of a box-shaped frame (10) which bears from the rear against the signal shield (3) and is closed off by a cover (11). The attachment of the frame (2) to the signal shield (3) is effected via screws (18) which can be plugged into the signal screen and interact with nuts which are held in the frame (10). The frame (10) is provided with circumferential seals both with respect to the signal shield (3) and to the cover (11). In the housing which is formed in this way, in addition to the light units (8, 9) electrical components (28) are to be accommodated, for which previously separate terminal boxes and switch boxes are to be provided. <IMAGE>
