PURPOSE:To increase the rate of recognition, by providing a stroke coupling circuit which temporarily couples between strokes so as to make the stroke of input characters consecutive. CONSTITUTION:An input character information is inputted to a stroke buffer 3 via a preprocessing circuit 2 and each coordinate value of strokes and the stroke number are inputted. A stroke coupling circuit 4 couples inputted strokes in the order of writing. From an output from the stroke coupling circuit 4, the total distance of strokes and number of representing points determined from the distance are decided 5. Each representing point is extracted 6 from the number of representing points. From the coordinates of the representing points, a relative position matrix is formed 7 and the answer is picked up by comparing it with the content of a dictionary by the dictionary 9 and a matching circuit 8 sequentially. |
