<p>PURPOSE:To obtain a desulfurized gas of high order suitable for steam reforming methanization and hydrogenation treatment, by subjecting a gas containing a sulfur compound to hydrodesulfurization and adsorptive desulfurization with a zinc based desulfurizing agent, and subjecting the resultant product to adsorptive desulfurization treatment with a copper based desulfurizing agent. CONSTITUTION:A gas containing a sulfur compound is fed from a line 1 to a hydrodesulfurization apparatus 3 and then the first adsorptive desulfurization apparatus 7, and desulfurized in the presence of a zinc based desulfurizing agent at about 350-400 deg.C under about 10kg/cm<2>G at about 1,000 SV to give preferably about 1-0.1ppm sulfur compound concentration in the gas. The resultant product is then fed to the second adsorptive desulfurization apparatus 11 and desulfurized in the presence of a copper based catalyst containing >=5% copper (oxide) and if necessary zinc oxide, alumina, silica, etc. added thereto under the following conditions; at about 200-250 deg.C under about 1-100kg/cm<2>G pressure, about 0-20kg/ cm<2>G PH2O and about 1,000 SV to give 1-0.01ppm sulfur concentration in the gas.</p> |
