PURPOSE:To improve the operation efficiency of a system by providing the POS terminal with the 3rd mode in which two kinds of operation in an on-line and an off-line mode are allowed to coexist. CONSTITUTION:The off-line, on-line, or hybrid mode is selected with an operation mode selection switch 18. Sale transaction data are written in off-line mode, only transmission to a central computer is performed in on-line, and both operations are performed alternately in hybrid mode. Namely, the counted value of a write counter 8 is compared by a comparator 11 with the contents of a constant register 12 in hybrid mode and the transmission is started when they are in specific relation. The contents of the constant register 12 are set by an operator through a setting device 13 for the quantity of the start of the transmission such as a ten-key. |
