METHOD AND INSTALLATION FOR CONTINUOUS PRODUCTION OF THIN SHEET

PURPOSE:To improve working efficiency and operating efficiency by connecting plural continuous casting lines for sheets to one rolling line via helical turns and using adequately selectively the casting lines. CONSTITUTION:The continuous casting machine 2 is installed alongside the direction perpendicular to the line of the continuous casting machine 1. The helical turns 6, 6 are provided in the upstream position of a rolling mill to enable selective use of the line for the machine 2 and the line for the machine 1. The machine which is preliminarily arranged to be ready for operation is operated when there is a need for casting the sheet material 3 of the size different from the size of the sheet material 3 under casting by the machine 1. The sheet material 3 cast by the machine 2 is joined with the line for the machine 1 via the turns 6, 6 upon ending of the operation with the machine 1. The need for stopping the machine 4 is eliminated by the above-mentioned method. The working efficiency and operating efficiency are consequently improved.
