DETERMINATION SYSTEM FOR ARRAY DATA POSITION

PURPOSE:To determine the location of data B(i) in a main storage device by adding or subtracting the difference between the location of data A(i) which is already referred to in the main storage device and the location of the data B(i) to or from the contents of a register indicating the data A(i) when the data B(i) is referred to. CONSTITUTION:A compiler calculates iXm for referring to the (i)th data A(i) among data A(n) and generates an instruction to be stored in a register Ti. Then, instructions for calculating and adding the address (a) of data A(1) to data Ti and storing the result in a register Ta are generated. This register Ta generates an instruction for setting the contents of the data A(i) to data L. In this case, an instruction for adding the address difference b-a=d to the register Ta and storing it in a register Tb is generated instead of generating an instruction for calculating and adding the address (b) of data B(1) to a register Ti similarly to the case wherein the data A(i) is referred to. This register Tb generates as instruction for setting the contents of the data B(i) to data N.
