PURPOSE:To announce and confirm the working state of a device under actuation by setting a flag bank showing the present state of each device at the inside of each acoustic video device and sending back the flag information when multiplex access is given to the device under actuation from another device. CONSTITUTION:When a video signal is sent to a channel A on an AV transmission line from a VTR, the contents of a flag bank 8 are set to a flag bank 4.1 of the VTR. A TV1.3 gives an inquiry to the VTR whether the VTR is presently busy or not during a status. Otherwise a command for video reproduction request is delivered directly. In the former case, the contents of bank 8 are sent back as the contents of a status. While the contents of the bank 8 are sent after giving a negative answer to the TV1.3 in the latter case. It is possible in both cases to confirm that the VTR is sending a video signal to the channel A.
