The invention is a device on a cylinder with a piston axially movable in the cylinder. With a cylinder cap and the wall of the cylinder, the piston forms a chamber communicating with a line system for oil. The volume of the chamber is dependent upon the position of the piston in the cylinder. The characterising feature of the invention is a device consisting of a wiper packing of elastic material which is arranged on the piston edge pointing towards the cap. This packing is designed in such a way that it bears in a wiping manner against the cylinder wall at least during the movement of the piston towards the cap. Furthermore, the device consists of a member of elastic material arranged in a cap area adjoining the cylinder wall and having a flange projecting in an annular manner. The free margin of the flange bears against the cylinder wall, as a result of which an annular intermediate space is obtained. At least the front part of the wiper packing can penetrate into this intermediate space when the piston has approached close enough to the cylinder cap during its movement towards it. |
