PURPOSE:To obtain a corrosion-resistant surface contacting with molten glass, by bonding a ceramic material containing a number of microscopic pores to the surface of a corrosion-resistant metal, and constantly supplying a gas inert to the glass through the small perforations of the metal. CONSTITUTION:A ceramic material 2 containing a number of microscopic pores is bonded to the surface of a corrosion-resistant alloy plate 3 having small perforations 31. The surface of the ceramic material 2 is made to contact with molten glass 20, and the gas inert to the glass, e.g. argon, is supplied constantly to the molten glass 20 through the perforations 31 of the alloy plate 3 and the microscopic pores of the ceramic material 2. A contact surface durable to the molten glass can be provided by this process.
