PURPOSE:To stop faulty operations of a knocking control device by maintaining the control amount of knocking control at the value which is prevalent when the operation of electromagnetic clutch is OFF for a predetermined duration of time from the moment when the operation of electromagnetic clutch is switched from OFF to ON or from ON to OFF, or by stopping the knocking control altogether. CONSTITUTION:A controlling computer 9 computes the baseline ignition timing based on basic parameters of the rotational signal Ne from the distributor 9, airflow signal Q from the airflow meter 13 and throttle opening signal thetaTH, which is then corrected with a knocking compensation amount which is determined by the knocking signal KNK of a knock sensor 7 as a correction parameter, and outputs an ignition timing signal thetaIGt. The timer is set the moment when the electromagnetic clutch 8 is switched from OFF to ON or from ON to OFF, and the knocking compensation amount is suspended. If there still is knocking after a predetermined elapsed time, the knocking compensation amount is outputted. |
