PURPOSE:To simplify the constitution of an automatic two step type variable speed gear by providing a one-way clutch between a rotary object and another rotary object. CONSTITUTION:A one-way clutch 26 is provided between a first sun wheel 16 and a second carrier 24. This puts the torque generated in the one-way clutch 26 during high speed rotation into power circulation between the first sun wheel 16 and the second carrier 24 with the result that the torque is not transmitted to the case for supporting the first sun wheel 16 and the second carrier 24; consequently, the reinforcement of the case becomes unnecessary and the constitution of the automatic two step type variable speed gear is simplified.
