PURPOSE:To improve the productionability by positioning the grinding wheel heads on the lateral and longitudinal shafts at the outside of opposed corner sections of a column then turning and shifting to be positioned in the center of table bed and fixing to the column thereby enabling mounting of large grinding wheel head. CONSTITUTION:A column 4 is mounted rotatably on a column saddle 8 while the grinding wheels 10A, 11A on the lateral and longitudinal shafts are positioned at the outside of the opposite corner sections 4C of column when viewing from the center of rotation C1 of column to fix both grinding wheel heads 10, 11 to the column 4 while shifting in same turning direction such that they will be positioned in the center C2 of table head upon turning by 180 deg.. Then a motor 9 for driving the lateral grinding wheel is fixed to the engaging base section 10B and installed at the outside thus to eliminate independent heat-discharge means. Consequently, there is no limitation due to the rigidity of column while large grinding wheel heads 10, 11 can be mounted resulting in improvement of productionability and reduction of manufacturing cost. |
