PURPOSE:To stabilize image quality, by electrically controlling the ink-jetting direction so as to eliminate scatter of nozzles and eliminate white streaks, black streaks or the like. CONSTITUTION:Numerals 371-378 denote charging electrodes, numeral 38 a deflecting electrode, numeral 39 a deflecting power source, numeral 40 a gutter, numeral 41 an amplifier, numeral 42 a phase-retrieving circuit, numeral 43 a timing-generating circuit, numeral 44 an address counter, numeral 45 a gain- controlling and bias-controlling circuit, and numeral 46 an exciting circuit, and the phase of each of the nozzles is controlled on a time sharing basis by a phase-retrieving electrode consisting of the single gutter. Variations in charging amount depending on the nozzle diameter or the shape of cut droplets are controlled by controlling a charging gain, thereby controlling the printing position. The generation of charging codes is summerized in a table, and is distributed to 8 nozzles. Bias circuits are provided for controlling the ink-jetting directions, and the ranges assigned to the circuits are defined. |
