GRINDING WHEEL CORRECTION DEVICE

PURPOSE:To insure sharp edge thus to prevent deterioration of shape accuracy and to enable correction of grinding wheel for long term by positioning diamond particles of large grain size burried in the acute top portion on the outercircumference of a correction roll then rotating. CONSTITUTION:Diamond particles 19 having large grain size are burried with equi-interval in the circumferential direction in the acute top portion 18 on the outercircumference of a cup-shaped correction roll 17 where the particles 19 are positioned on the pivot axis to regulate turning of the roll 17 around the pivot axis through turning of a turn table. The table 40 is moved in Y-direction to position the roll 17 at such position as corresponding with CBN grinding wheel G then the roll 17 is moved relatively against the grinding wheel G in Y-direction to move the grinding wheel table 30 in X-direction thus to correct the grinding face of the grinding wheel G. The load to be applied onto the particles are born by many particles 19 while friction of the particles 19 is low because of large grain size resulting in accurate correction of the shape accuracy of the grinding face.
