<p>The transmission has two worms (3a,3b) formed on a common shaft (1). The worm threads have the same pitch, but are of opposite hands. Each worm meshes with two pinions of the same diameter (4a,6a,4b,6b), arranged on opposite sides of the shaft. Each pair of pinions on the same side of the shaft mesh with each other. - The shaft of each pinion of a diagonally opposite pair (4a,b) carries a second pinion which meshes with an internally toothed gear (7) mounted on the output shaft. The pinions are not located in the axial direction of their shafts and the worm shaft is also free to move axially so that no resultant axial force is exerted on the housing.</p> |
