PURPOSE:To increase power generation efficiency of a system by arranging in parallel a molten carbonate type fuel cell and phosphoric acid type fuel cell, and supplying exhaust gas from a burning unit installed on the lower stream side of the both cells to an oxidizing gas side of the molten carbonate type fuel cell. CONSTITUTION:A molten carbonate type fuel cell 3a, a carbon monoxide modifier 6, and a phosphoric acid type fuel cell 3b are arranged in parallel to form a composite system. A burning unit 4 is installed on the lower stream side of the both cells, and a fuel exhaust gas from cells 3a and 3b is completely oxidized in the burning unit, and supplied to oxidizing gas side of the fuel cell 3a as carbon dioxide. Ratio of carbon dioxide to oxygen in oxidizing gas supplied to the fuel cell 3a is increased to increase cell performance, and by parallel use of phosphoric type fuel cell 3b, flexible partial-load operation is made possible. |
