PURPOSE:To prevent a sealing ring from thermally deforming at a starting time by forming a cooling hole near the side surface of the ring at the inner peripheral side and a cooling slot which communicates with the hole, and flowing part of sealing oil to the hole and the slot. CONSTITUTION:In a shaft sealing device in which a ring-shaped sealing ring 2a is contained in a casing 3, energized by a spring 5 to slide on a rotational shaft 1, a cooling hole 7 which extends axially near the sliding surface of the ring 2a at the inner peripheral side is provided, and one end is allowed to communicated with a gap 4 for supplying the sealing oil to the slide surface. Further, a bottomed cooling slot 8 opened at the slide surface of the ring 2a is provided at another end of the hole 7 to communicate with it. Thus, part of the sealing oil is spread over the end of the ring 2a from the hole 7 through the slot 8, thereby preventing the ring 2a from thermally deforming. |
