PURPOSE:To surely prevent a tail gate from dropping even if a cargo box is errorneously tilted backward, by providing such an arrangement that a locking piece is engaged with an engaging piece in association with the disengaging operation between an upper support and an upper shaft. CONSTITUTION:Upper and lower support members 3 and 4 are arranged above and below the rear end of a cargo box 1 laid in the rear section of a cargo vehicle. Upper and lower shafts 5, 6 are attached to the upper and lower ends of a tail gate 2, respectively. The base end of a hook 18 which is a locking piece swingably attached to the lower part of the rear end section of the cargo box 1 is coupled to the base end of a rod 15 by means of a pivot 19. When the tail gate 2 is opened upward, an operating lever 12 is at first rotated counterclockwise to rotate a bellcrank 13 clockwise so that the rod 15 is pulled upward. As a result, the hooking part of a hook 18 is engaged with an engaging shaft 20, and simultaneously, the upper shaft 5 is disengaged from the support member 3, thereby the gate 2 is opened upward about the lower shaft 6 and a shaft 20 as pivotal shafts. |
