PURPOSE:To simplify a motor output control mechanism, by providing such an arrangement that the motor is driven upon starting of steering operation, and in accordance with the output of the motor upon the time point when a relative movement between the tire and the road surface is initiated, the output of the motor on steering is determined subsequently to the time point. CONSTITUTION:A steering direction judging circuit 7 receives a steering signal from a steering angle sensor 5 to determine the steering direction, and issues a steering direction signal. The signal energizes a relay drive circuit 10 to drive a motor drive circuit 8 so that a motor 17 is driven. Meanwhile, a tire steering judging circuit 22 is energized when its receives a steering force signal from a steering force detector 1. The judging circuit 22 detects that a tire rotates in the horizontal direction, and when the output of the circuit 22 is changed into an H level from an L level, a trigger circuit 23 issues a trigger signal. A signal switching circuit 25 allows the output of a lamp voltage generating circuit 21 upon the above-mentioned change to pass therethrough in association with the trigger signal. A comparator 27 delivers a control signal to a drive element 16 when the output of the circuit 25 is greater than a reference value set on a waveform generating circuit 26, and therefore, the output of the motor 17 is controlled.
