The present invention relates to a method and a device for packaging food products, particularly fish. The device comprises a seizing chain 20 equipped with gripping means 30 and with displacement means 40 capable of displacing the products from a loading station towards a packaging station, storage means 50 for a food-grade enfilming agent which are associated with heating means capable of bringing this agent to the molten state, a carriage 100 provided at the packaging station, arranged on vertical guiding means 120, 121 and connected to drive means 130 with a view to an alternating vertical displacement, and nozzles arranged on the carriage in order to spray enfilming agent over the product during at least a part of the vertical displacement path of the carriage. <IMAGE>
