In a device for conveying stacks of paper from a paper processing machine to the packaging machine having two conveying lines which are arranged at a distance from one another and which each consist of one feeding conveyor (6 and 7 respectively), an intermediate conveyor (8 and 9 respectively) and a discharging conveyor (11 and 13 respectively), the two intermediate conveyors (8; 9) are movable transversely to the conveying direction. To this end, the intermediate conveyors (8; 9) can be interlocked with one another, and one of the intermediate conveyors (8; 9) is provided with a travelling mechanism. This makes it possible for the intermediate conveyors (8; 9) to alternately feed a central discharging conveyor (12) with stocks of paper (1; 2). <IMAGE>
