The proposed vehicle brake system which is protected against blocking has a device (1) for limiting the rise in braking force with a control circuit (6) in which a unit for determining the time in which the wheel acceleration signal reaches its maximum value and a control pulse shaper are connected in series, which shaper produces a pulse when the signal at the input of the control circuit (6) reaches its maximum value. The output of the control circuit (6) is connected to the control input (8) of a storage unit (7).
