PURPOSE:To prevent breakage in a thin veneer and to reduce loading cycle by correctly loading thin veneers placed on a roll conveyer on a loading portion by means of a fork element. CONSTITUTION:A thin veneer 7 is transported along a roll conveyer 1, and a fork element 4 is located below the upper surface of the roll conveyer 1 until the veneer plate 7 contacts a stopper plate 11. The forward ends of a support needles 6 are kept from projecting over the upper surface of the roll conveyer 1. When the thin veneer 7 is brought into contact with the stopper plate 11, the fork element 4 rises to support the thin veneer 7, and when the lower surface of the fork element 4 gets to above the upper surface of the roll conveyer 1, the next thin veneer 7 is carried on the roll conveyer 1. When the fork element 4 is moved in the axial direction of a roller 3 to get to above a leading portion 2, the thin veneer is unloaded on the loading table 20. Subsequently, the support needles 6 are accomodated in the fork element 4 to bring the end of the thin veneer plate 7 into contact with stoppers 21, and the fork element 4 is moved to the conveyer 1 side, with the thin veneer 7 left on the loading table 20. |
