PURPOSE:To provide the titled fluid which has a low viscosity and an excellent coefficient of traction and whose viscosity is less temperature-dependent, by using a specified satd. hydrocarbon compd. as a base stock. CONSTITUTION:A fluid for traction drive contains at least one member selected from among compds. of the formula, wherein R1, R2 are each methyl, ethyl (e.g. 2,4-dicyclohexylpentane, 2,4-dicyclohexylhexane, 3,5-dicyclohexylheptane) as a base stock. Said compd. can be synthesized by reacting an alkylbenzene with an alpha-alkylstyrene and then hydrogenating the reaction product. |
