A process for forming a film of a ceramic dielectric material comprises dispersing the ceramic material as a comminuted powder coated with an organic resin in a liquid medium, electrodepositing the ceramic powder and the resin from the dispersion on to a conductive substrate, and firing the film to form the ceramic, thereby removing the resin. In the examples the electrodeposition composition is prepared by sand milling or ball milling a mix comprising the ceramic, resin and water then diluting the mix with water.
