POLYMERIC SUPPORTED EXTRACTANTS FOR THE REMOVAL OF METAL VALUES AND ORGANIC COMPOUNDS FROM AQUEOUS SOLUTIONS Polymeric supported extractants, their use and preparation are disclosed. Said extractants comprise macroreticular resins containing phosphorus based extractant compounds encapsulated therein. The extractants are useful for the extraction of mineral values and organic compounds from aqueous solutions and may be prepared by the suspension polymerization of a monovinylidine compound and a polyvinylidine compound in a solution of the phosphorusbased extractant and a short chain (C4 to C10) alkanol.
