PURPOSE:To attain surely input/output processing of a picture even with a small capacity memory by stopping the input when it is detected that the residual amount of a storage device reaches a prescribed value and outputting dividedly a picture data of the storage device. CONSTITUTION:When a CPU11 lights a light source 2 and a motor driving a carrier roller 13 is driven by one line's share via a motor control section 12, an original on an original platen is carried by one scanning line. The CPU11 controls a CCD sensor 6 in synchronizing therewith so as to allow the sensor 6 to read a picture data for one line's share, the sensor 6 codes (7) the data and stores it to a picture memory 8. When the memory 8 has sufficient residual amount, the next line is read. If the residual amount is insufficient, the motor driving the roller 13 is stopped via the control section 12, the motor is reversed so as to reverse the carrying of the original by a prescribed amount, the compressed picture data in the memory 8 is read and decoded by a decoder 9 and recorded by a recording section 10. When a roll paper sheet is used as the recording paper, the sheet is used to its end, and when a paper sheet is used, the recorded paper 8 is discharged and a new recording sheet is loaded. |
