PURPOSE:To permit sharp digital image recording having aptitude of image formation using a monochromatic coherent light, preventing interference fringes and spots, and having high resolution by forming the surface of a substrate into a specified shape, and incorporating specified elements in a light receiving layer. CONSTITUTION:The substrate 1001 has on the surface a large number of protuberances composed of main peaks and auxiliary peaks overlapping one another as shown in the section cut at a prescribed position in the figure, and on the substrate 1001 the light receiving layer 1002 made of an a-Si type material contg. at least one of C, O, and N, is formed, and the layer 1002 has at least as one part of it a photosensitive layer region 1004. The addition of one of C, O, N into the layer 1002 facilitates enhancement of sensitivity and dark decay resistance, and also strengthens adhesion between the substrate 1001 and the layer 1002. Such a light receiving member 1000 is suitable to image formation using a monochromatic coherent light, it can be easily controlled in manufacture, it can be prevented from interference fringes at the time of image formation and spots at the time of development at the same time and perfectly, and further, it has high photosensitivity characteristics, high S/N ratio characteristics, and good electric contact efficiency. |
