PURPOSE:To stabilize tape travelling by arranging a tape guide block body mounting a tape guide and recording and reproducing heads. CONSTITUTION:While being contacted with leading end tape guide parts 31A (the 3rd tape guide), 31B (the 1st tape guide), 31C (the 2nd tape guide), and 31D (the 4th tape guide) formed by the upper plates 32, 34 and lower plates 33, 35 of the tape guide block body 31 and regulated at its waving by the upper plate 34 and lower plate 35 on the feeding side and the upper plate 32 and lower plate 33 on the winding side, a magnetic tape 18 travels near the recording head 26 and reproducing head 27 at a fixed travelling speed in a magnetic tape travelling direction (a). Consequently, the fitting adjustment of the tape guide can be easily executed, positioning accuracy can be controlled highly accurately and stable tape travelling can be attained.
