PURPOSE:To automatically cut a paper without increasing complicatedness of mechanism or imposing a heavy burden on the operator, even when using continuous slip paper different in page length, by automatically controlling a papar feeding distance in accordance with the page length of the paper being used. CONSTITUTION:Where the page length n1 is longer than the length n2 from a positioning mark 5 to a printing position 3, the paper is fed forward by DELTAm1 lines, and the first perforation in a page on which printing is to be started is set to the printing position 3. On the other hand, when the page length n1 is shorter and the length n2, the difference 2n1-n2 is calculated, the paper is fed forward by an amount equal to the difference, and then printing is started. When the final printing on a certain page is completed, a cutting command for cutting the paper is generated by a host logical device 13. After the last perforation in a page for which the paper-cutting command is received reaches a cutting mechanism 8, the paper is cut in response to a command from a logical part 12. Where the next printing command is present, the paper is fed forward by DELTAm2 lines so as to set the next perforation to the printing position, and printing is started. |
