发明名称 FLUORESCENT DISPLAY DEVICE AND ITS DRIVING METHOD
摘要 PURPOSE:To add a grid control function to a cathode and make the device thin by forming a substrate metal thin film layer across multiple lugs provided on a substrate and coating its surface with a thermoelectron emitting material to form a cathode. CONSTITUTION:A wiring layer 2, a glass film layer 7, and multiple conductor stanchions 4 are provided on a substrate 1, a tungsten thin film layer is formed on its whole surface, which is etched to form a tungsten thin film filament layer 5 stretching across the stanchions 4, and it is coated with a thermoelectron emitting material to form a cathode. On the other hand, translucent electrodes 11, 11'..., phosphor layers 15, 15'..., and an insulating layer 14 are provided inside a transparent substrate, which is faced to the substrate 1, and they are stored in a vacuum container to form a fluorescent display device. Accordingly, the whole device can be made thin, a grid control function is added to the cathode by operating it on a time division basis, thus requiring no grid electrode to be installed.
