AIR/FUEL RATIO CONTROLLER FOR ENGINE

PURPOSE:To quicken the converging control of air/fuel ratio from lean side to rich side by increasing the control factor of air/fuel ratio feedbck control if the air/fuel ratio is nearer to the lean side than the target level when the air supply for engine will vary in the increasing direction. CONSTITUTION:Air/fuel ratio detecting means 31 such as O2 sensor for detecting the air/fuel ratio of mixture gas to be fed to an engine 1 is provided to produce an output signal which is fed to signal output means 40 to be compared with a level corresponding with the target air/fuel ratio thus to produce a signal corresponding with the difference. With correspondence to the output signal from said means 40, the fuel supply is corrected through air/fuel ratio regulating means 41 to maintain target air/fuel ratio. Upon detection of variation of air supply to engine 1 in the increasing direction through air supply variation detecting means 42, a signal for increasing the fuel by predetermined amount is added to the signal from said means 40 through signal correction means 43 under variation of air supply where the air/fuel ratio is nearer to the lean side than the target level.
