PURPOSE:To enable prevention of a gear crack owing to stress concentration by forming integrally a flange part provided with a fitting projection to a titled gear and inserting the fitting projection into the groove of a differential case thereby detaining the gear. CONSTITUTION:The revolution of the differential case 5 by a final gear (not shown) is transmitted to a speedometer drive gear 12 which is detained by the fitting projection 18 and a speedometer driven gear 23 meshed with the gear 12 is rotated. A speed is thus indicated. The projection 18 is formed to the gear 12 in the position off the inside peripheral surface of the gear body 15 with respect to the case 5 while the gear 12 is kept driven by the case 5, i.e., on the inside flank of the flange 16 and therefore the stress generated in the gear part 14 in the part where the gear 23 and the body 15 are meshed with each other is prevented from concentrating at the projection 18 of the flange 16. The fixing structure which obviates generation of the gear crack and has high durability is thus obtd. |
