Anti-theft device for vehicles, especially for motor vehicles, characterised in that it comprise: - a hollowed-out steering core 1 rotationally integral with the steering wheel 3 and mounted on the steering column 4, preferably at the upper portion of the latter; - means 1e, 4a allowing the rotational coupling, or uncoupling, of the said steering core 1 and of the said steering column 4; - and means 10, 8 for locking, suitable for holding the steering core 1 in the uncoupled position according to which the said steering core and, consequently, the steering wheel 3, are mounted loosely on the said steering column, which has the effect of rendering the steering control inoperable and preventing driving of the vehicle. <IMAGE>
