PURPOSE:To suck efficiently the gas in a cavity and to form a defectless casting by attaching a device for sucking and ejecting gas and a sensor for detecting a molten metal to dies in the position where a misrun is liable to arise and providing means for controlling both in association. CONSTITUTION:The device 10 for sucking and ejecting the gas constituting of an air vent 11, etc. is attached to the die such as a movable die 4 facing the position where the misrun is liable to arise. A thermocouple 26 as the sensor for detecting the molten metal is attached to the die 4. A selector stop valve 15 is actuated by a control device 18 to inject the air from an air supply source 14 into a suction device 13 and the gas in the product cavity 8 is sucked and discharged through the air vent 11. The molten metal is thus filled into the cavity 8 without incorporating the gas therein. The signal for the presence of the molten metal is transmitted to the device 18 when the thermocouple 26 confirms the presence of the molten metal. The device 18 stops the suction by closing the valve 15. As a result, the molten metal is prevented from entering the inside of the air vent 11. The product having no misrun and blowhole defect is thus obtd. |
