PURPOSE:To reduce the load of a magnetic disk controller by selecting a route of data storage when data of a track following the track of a magnetic disk which is accessed from a CPU is stored in a disk cache memory. CONSTITUTION:When a start I/O instruction from the CPU is terminated, a processor 15 tries to store data of a track N+1 following a track N, which is subjected to data processing, in a disk cache memory 18 in case of sequential access. A magnetic disk controller 7 instructs a cache controller 8 to discriminate whether data related to the track N+1 exists in the memory 18 or not. If this data exists, the controller 7 waits for the next start I/O instruction. If data does not exist in the memory 18, the controller 7 instructs the cache controller 8 to reserve an area, where data of the track N+1 should be stored, on the memory 18 and disconnects a magnetic disk device and waits for a new start I/O instruction. |
