A rotating magnetic separating device (2) is provided which rotates quickly and produces an alternating magnetic field through which the particles (8) and (9) of the conglomerate are passed. The separating device (2) is surrounded here by a casing (5) which rotates only slowly. The eddy currents in the electrically conductive particles (8) of the conglomerate produce magnetic forces which act in the direction (11) of rotation and radially and give the electrically conductive particles (8) a further trajectory parabola whilst the electrically non-conductive particles (9) are braked by the casing (5). <IMAGE>
