PURPOSE:To improve the luminance nonuniformity of a fluorescent character display tube and increase its luminance by forming a rough conductive particle layer using a conductive powder with a smaller mean particle diameter than a phosphor and forming a phosphor layer on the conductive layer. CONSTITUTION:After a wiring 2 is formed on a plat glass 1 using a silver paste, an insulating glass layer 3 principally composed of PbO is formed which electrically insulates the wiring 2 from an electrode group 5. Next, the electrode group 5 consisting of a flake graphite powder is formed through a through hole 4. Next, after a rough conductive powder layer 7 having a mean thickness of around 8mu and almost the same shape as the electrode group 5 is formed by printing using a paste made of a granular graphite powder with a mean particle diameter of 3.6mu, a red phosphor with a mean particle diameter of 7.6mu is formed in a desired pattern. By the means mentioned above, the contact area between the conductive powder and phosphor particles in the conductive powder layer increases and the luminance and the luminance nonuniformity of the fluorescent display tube can be improved. |
