PURPOSE:To reduce cost by forming a photosensitive resin layer having a specific thickness formed with ruggedness such as a character, etc. by photopolymn. on a metallic base plate and forming further a thin metallized layer having a prescribed thickness on the surface thereof. CONSTITUTION:A resin monomer for casting is cast between a metallic master and glass 13 and is cured to manufacture a resin mold 10. A transparent film 6 is placed on a film mask 5 and a spacer 7 is set thereon. A photosensitive resin monomer 8 is dropped by a suitable quantity. The resin mold 10 formed with the desired surface pattern and character shape is then placed thereon to sandwich the monomer 8 between said mold and the film 6 in a vacuum. UV is further irradiated from the mask 5 side and the monomer is successively subjected to electroless Ni-P alloy plating, under-plating and finish plating. The integration of the process for production is made possible by the above-mentioned method and since the method adapts itself to diversification of design, a considerable cost reduction is attained.
