PURPOSE:To correct circumferential torsion of a metallic wire rod almost perfectly by providing a means that passes the metallic wire rod through a driven reel having a forming die and a guide groove, a driving reel and a straightening device continuously. CONSTITUTION:A metallic wire rod having circular sectional form is inserted in a forming die device 1 and formed to regular hexagonal sectional form. This wire rod 2 is wound once along a driven reel and guide grooves 5a, 6a of a driving reel and then wound to get on the face of the wire rod 2 on the side off from the first guide face F1 of the guide groove 5a and on the third guide face F3. Further, it is wound to come into contact with the face of the wire rod 2 on the side off from the guide face f1 of the driving reel 6 and the second guide face f2. Then, the wire rod 2 is passed through rolls 7, 8 along the guide groove of a horizontal holding roll 7 of a straightening roll device 4 and the guide groove of a vertical holding roll 8. A metallic wire rod of small torsion can be formed by this device.
