Continuously operating sieving centrifuge, esp. for sugar prodn., comprises two coaxial centrifuge drums, one above the other. The upper drum is driven by a shaft having its power input at the bottom and both drums are housed within a common housing. The lower drum is rigidly and drivingly connected to the upper drum by a tubular shaft surrounding the drive shaft. Between the two drums, a stationary cone is located, its wide top end being fixed by a flange to the top of the casing, while its narrower, lower end closely surrounds the tubular shaft with a small annular gap between them. Separated sugar centrifuged from the upper drum at its top perimeter plate is mixed with a liquid, esp. refined syrup, entering through a distributor, then falls down into the stationary cone, through the bottom annular gap and into an accelerator tub mounted inside the lower centrifuge.
