The invention relates to a continuously operating screen-type centrifuge, in particular sugar centrifuge, having two centrifugal drums arranged one on top of the other. In this arrangement, the upper centrifugal drum is seated on a centrifugal shaft which is driven from below. The lower centrifugal drum is attached, with spacing, to the upper centrifugal drum via a central support pipe. A conical plate, with which the mingled massecuite is introduced into the acceleration device of the lower drum is provided for the transferral of the mingled sugar discharged from the upper centrifugal drum. With the double centrifugal treatment according to the invention, a double centrifuge effect is provided with a very small requirement of space in terms of base area.
