The multiple path absorber for a heat exchange fluid circulating in a solar heating system has a set of parallel tubes (1) connecting upper and lower header tubes (4). Each connecting tube fits into a collar (3) on the header tube to form a liquid tight seal. The connecting tubes are larger in diameter than the header tubes. Each end of a header tube is closed by a sealing collar (5) with a small diameter end connection (6) for a supply or return pipe. Each header tube is made from sheet material bent into shape, and closed by a longitudinal seam weld.
