PURPOSE:To obtain picture recording having a desired and visually easy to see picture density by recording a picture signal plural number of times on a scanning line in recording the picture based on a binary picture signal. CONSTITUTION:A picture recording device consists of monostable multivibrators 40, 42, serial-in/serial-out shift resisters 44, 46, AND gates 48, 50, OR gates 52, 54 and a shift register 20. In energyzing a stylus based on the binary picture signal, the device acts like obtaining a prescribed black level density through three times power application. Two stages of intermediate tone such as dark intermediate tone and light intermediate tone are obtained at the boundary region between a black level and a white level by shifting right or left the binary picture signal at each energyzing recording.
