PURPOSE:An ionic electrically conductive compound which is a moldable solid, containing a crosslinked and solidified copolymer of dimethylsiloxane and poly (ethylene oxide) and an electrolyte consisting of a specific metal ion, and having a high electric conductivity at room temperature. CONSTITUTION:An ionic electrically conductive compound obtained by swelling a copolymer of dimethylsiloxane and poly(ethylene oxide) of the formula prepared by reacting dimethyldichlorosilane with poly(ethylene glycol), reacting the resultant copolymer with triethylene glycol dimethacrylate and benzoyl peroxide, crosslinking and solidifying the reaction product with a solution of an electrolyte consisting of metal ions belonging to Group I in the periodic table, e.g. lithium perchlorate, in acetone, and evaporating the acetone to dryness.
